The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been rampant.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
