Our department has a collection of thousands of cars in the MoD and Chinese ones represent a very small number.
But regardless of if you’re traveling in a vehicle from China or a non-Chinese car, what we’ve asked our staff is not to plug MoD devices into their car, not to have discussions at a secret level in any kind of car, because of the growing threats of eavesdropping that exist in every single automobile, to only have those confidential talks in secure locations. This is a prudent and sensible thing for anyone worried about safety.

When it was suggested that it would be prudent for the ministry to cease using every Chinese vehicles, Pollard replied: That is exactly what we’re investigating at the present time.”
